The κλισμός of Achilles, <i>Iliad</i> 24.596-98
Abstract
By taking the phrase to mean “the wall opposite from which he had arisen,” we can see Achilles observing proper Homeric etiquette in taking the lesser chair and facing his guest Nestor.
