John Chrysostom, the <I>Laudatio Apostolorum</I>, and the End of the Areopagus
Abstract
Chrysostom’s sermon, in citing the end of the council, probably alludes to Alaric’s attack on Athens in 396, as there is material evidence of destruction in the area of the Areopagus.
