<i>Phaedrus</i> 279A: The Praise of Isocrates
Abstract
That Plato’s praise is ironic is shown by its contradictions with Isocrates’ thought, by criticisms of rhetoric shared with Alcidamas, and by references to Isocrates in the Euthydemus.
