On the Antecedents of Aristotle’s Bipartite Psychology
Abstract
Euripides’ Medea and Phaedra show a popular perception (reason vs. emotion) that Aristotle would formalize, and his bipartite soul differs from and rejects a version of bipartism that had emerged in the Academy.
