“Still noon” in Plato’s Phaedrus (and in Heraclides of Pontus)

Authors

Abstract

At 242A ἡ δὴ καλουμένη σταθερά is not an interpolation and can be justified, as high noon was the time of epiphanies, and Plato’s words appear to be known to Heraclides (a vision at μεσημβρία σταθερά).
