Abstract

For a Jew to be a citizen of a Greek city like Antioch, there is no need to posit a grant of isopoliteia; Antioch does not figure prominently in the culture of the Second Sophistic; the Antiochene Olympia, celebrated until 520, were religiously neutral and inoffensive.
